WHAT IS HYDROGEN SULFIDE?
Hydrogen sulfide is a gas which is present in different concentrations in all kinds of biogas and damages the engines. The amount of hydrogen sulfide in the gas varies according to the raw material and inorganic sulfate content. Particularly in wastes with high protein content containing sulfur-based amino acids, hydrogen sulfide content is high.
CAN HYDROGEN SULFIDE DAMAGE EQUIPMENT?
Hydrogen sulfide in the gas has an odor similar to that of a rotten egg. As hydrogen sulfide is a corrosive gas, it damages internal combustion engines and causes the engine oil to break down in a short time.
The following methods are applied industrially for the removal of hydrogen sulfide:
- Iron Oxide Pellets
- Activated Carbon
- Water Scrubbing
- NaOH Scrubbing
- Biological Removal
- Iron Sponge
Our company offers the most convenient and economical method according to the customer gas analysis and the field conditions of the customer and we commission the systems on turn-key basis.
